Héloïse Adelaïde Letissier, better known as ‘Christine and the Queens’, surprised her fans over the weekend by performing a previously unreleased track on the hit YouTube series COLORS.

The track – ‘People, I’ve Been Sad’ – is the artist’s first release in 18 months, having been touring full time following the release of her second album.

Christine and the Queens (or just ‘Chris’) is a singer, songwriter and producer from France. The name comes from when Chris spent time in London in 2010 and was so inspired by local drag queen musicians she included them in her show as her backing band i.e ‘her Queens’. Chris has dedicated many of her creations to the transgender community and has previously described her genre as ‘freakpop’.

The COLORS performance showcases Chris’s ability to switch between English and French lyrics easily, and not to mention her dreamy vocals. Check it out below, and listen on Spotify here.
