Sienna Spiro is the name on everybody’s lips. Hailing from London, this rising starlet is a soul-pop singer-songwriter who performs her heart out on viral hits like ‘Die On This Hill’. With a subtle jazz sound and a dreamy throwback style, she’s an artist you need to know to stay on the edge of the best new music. We’ve got all the details on this thrilling performer as she drops her latest track ‘The Visitor’!
She built herself up on TikTok
Avid social media users might recognise Sienna from her early online videos. She began building a presence on TikTok in 2021, posting several original songs and covers which gained virality before she started officially recording and releasing her work.
Sienna made her first post covering Finneas’ track ‘Break My Heart Again’ on the first day of her studies at East London Arts and Music, aged sixteen. However, online success found her so quickly, she soon dropped out to pursue record label interest. This led to frequent travels to Los Angeles, the international hub of pop music, for collaborations and artistic development. 2024’s ‘Need Me’ officially kicked off Sierra’s era as a true releasing artist.
Her song ‘Die On This Hill’ is more than a TikTok trend
If you’ve caught wind of the heartbreaking TikTok audio, “I know nothing could matter/God I wish something mattered to you”, you’ve heard Sienna Spiro. Released last October, her explosive ballad ‘Die On This Hill’ deals with the pain of staying in a relationship you know you’d be better off leaving. ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ inspired the initial chord progression, as Sienna wrote the song whilst learning to play the piano part of Queen’s iconic hit. At only twenty years old, Sienna’s songwriting is clearly wise beyond her years in these gut-wrenching lyrics, which have made their way to many a fan edit, meme or earnest sad girl storytime.
She’s an old soul
Sienna’s sound opts for a timeless feel, focusing on her powerful mezzo-soprano voice above all else. Her production is simple and organic, making each song feel cinematic with pianos and strings backing her raw, expressive vocal. Tracks like ‘You Stole The Show’ perfectly emphasise Sienna’s artistry as something that would thrive at any point in musical history. It’s hard not to envision her under the spotlight of a smoky underground speakeasy every time she sings.
Plus, Sienna’s nostalgic approach shines through in her aesthetics. Sienna frequently opts for 50s hairstyles, sweet mod dresses and muted, classic color palettes, speaking to those of us who crave a stylistic escape to another reality. If you’ve got a pair of go-go boots in your closet, a Sienna Spiro concert is the perfect place to rock them!

She’s blossoming into a critical darling
With only an EP and a string of singles to her name, Spiro is already beloved in the music industry. This year, she was nominated for the Critic’s Choice at the Brit Awards, and her songs have frequently charted on the Billboard Hot 100 and internationally. Dazed Magazine also named her an artist to watch at the end of 2024, following the release of her daring noir singles ‘Back to Blonde’ and ‘Taxi Driver’. Her 2025 eight-track EP Sink Now, Swim Later went on to garner positive coverage for its intimacy, honesty and 70s soundscapes from publications like Hive, Cryptic Rock and The Line of Best Fit.

Sam Smith is a fan
Fellow English balladeer Sam Smith brought out Sienna to perform at their shows multiple times over the past few months. They’ve sung Sam’s hit ‘Lay Me Down’ together, as well as Sienna’s own ‘Die On This Hill’. In fact, Smith describes her as “the voice of a generation”. It’s not hard to see why, when Sienna’s performance style and emotional intensity follows in the footsteps of many British warblers before her like Amy Winehouse, Adele and Lewis Capaldi.

Her new single ‘The Visitor’ could be her best yet
After fans requested its release for months on end, Sierra’s new single ‘The Visitor’ is finally here. This moving ballad deals with accepting we’re sometimes only meant to make brief appearances in other people’s lives. It took Sierra nine tries to get right, as she wanted to write about the topic for so long.
“I’ve felt like (a visitor) my entire life — I’m terrified of impermanence, of things ending, of people leaving,” Sierra muses. “It took me years to find the right words for that feeling. This song isn’t just a love song; it’s an ode to my life. A request to not be just a passing experience in someone’s life, and learning to live with impermanence”.
This single inspired her upcoming ‘The Visitor Tour’, already sold out across ten stops throughout North America, where Sierra tackles classic venues like The Bowery Ballroom and Troubadour. If the artists who’ve played these spaces before her are anything to go by, Spiro is positioned to become one of the greats. Listening to ‘The Visitor’ reveals that despite her fear of moving on quickly from someone’s life, in music, Sierra Spiro just might be here to stay.
