Somehow it’s already November which means that BENEE’s debut album ‘hey u x’ is out NEXT WEEK and she’s got A LOT of surprises in store for the release… 👀 Dropping on Friday, 13th November she’s certainly keeping us fed straight off the back of her dreamy NZ tour. Here’s EVERYTHING we know about the album so far.

She’s collaborated with the likes of Grimes and Lily Allen
BENEE’s phone book is filling up fast as ‘hey u x’ features collaborations from artists such as the incredible Grimes, Lily Allen, Flo Milli, and Mallrat – “Oh my goodness, I still don’t quite believe that they’re all going to be on it, because I’m such a huge fan of all of their work.”
The album also features previously released tracks ‘Supalonely’ with Gus Dapperton, ‘Night Garden’ with Kenny Beats & Bakar, and fan favourite ‘Snail’. Also making an appearance is Muroki, tour opener and the first signing to BENEE’s new record label Olive.
Her collab ‘Plain’ with Lily Allen & Flo Milli is out NOW!
Know the feeling of seeing an ex out with their new bae? BENEE does, so she made a song about it. About the collab, she explained, “I wanted to make it a song someone could listen to when they find out their ex is with someone new. The feeling sucks, so I wanted ‘Plain’ to make ya feel like you have the upper hand. Lily and Flo Milli both have such cool sass, and both their verses really elevated the track!”
She’s dabbled in new “eclectic” genres including drum and bass
It wouldn’t be a BENEE record without a wild mix of genres! And if you were at her Spark Arena gig you would have no doubt got your step count up when she played new drum and bass track ‘Sheesh’ feat. Grimes. On the track, she told the NZ Herald, “I like the idea of shocking people, and people not being able to predict what I’m going to put out.”
Grimes will be featured on BENEE’s debut album ‘hey u x’, on a song called ‘Sheesh’. The album drops November 13. 🍄⚔️
