Week three of lockdown. The boredom has started to sink in, we’re running out of TikTok trends to re-create, and there is only so much binge-watching you can do on Netflix. Our favourite artists from around the country are in the EXACT same boat, so they’ve been doing their best to keep us locked in, on lockdown, through live streams on social media.
Let’s have a look at what they’ve been up to…
Six60
The Six60 Saturday’s tour was meant to finish at the start of March, but COVID19 hasn’t stopped it from continuing! For the last three weeks, frontman Matiu Walters has been jamming live and acoustically from the comfort of his lounge on Six60’s Instagram account. At the weekend, we heard all the favourites from the bands three self-titled albums, as well as covers from Fleetwood Mac, D’Angelo, Ms Lauryn Hill – even a cover of Happy Birthday!
Check out this update from the boys that was uploaded to Instagram, urging us all to stay inside and stay safe.

SACHI
The SACHI boys, Nick Chrisp and Will Thomas, have also been utilising social media to keep their fans engaged on the regular. At the beginning of lockdown, they were live streaming Sunday morning workouts to their followers, bringing in personal trainer Des Helu as well as other famous faces like Chris Mac from Six60.
This Wednesday night on Instagram, the boys will be joined by celebrity chef Josh Emmet for a live cooking lesson – make sure you tune in from 7pm NZT.
The dish of choice is ‘Cacio e Pepe’, so head down to the supermarket and get your hands on 250g of Pasta, 100g of Parmesan or Pecorino Cheese and Black Peppercorns. Delicious.

Melodownz
Bronson Price, better known as Melodownz, will be sitting at home absolutely stoked right now. His latest single release ‘Fine’ just debuted in the New Zealand Hot Singles chart at #1 – his first number one achievement.
During lockdown, the Auckland rapper has been hosting ‘cypher sessions’ on his Facebook page. Other rappers from around Aotearoa are invited to chat and have a freestyle jam for the enjoyment of fans watching!
Check out Sunday’s edition (one of the most popular yet) with more than 15,000 people tuning in!

Eleven7Four
Auckland based rap duo Eleven7Four have fallen for the Tik Tok trap, creating an account to keep them occupied in Iockdown! Twin brothers Shingi and Muche are crazy keen skateboarders, so have been uploading videos of themselves checking out their local streets – which are a bit quieter than usual! Have a peep below!

The Naked and Famous
One thing this COVID19 pandemic has cemented is that technology can be a wonderful thing. Despite Thom Powers being back in New Zealand, other lead singer of The Naked and Famous Alisa Xayalith has stayed in LA where they are based these days! Together, the pair have held live sessions on Instagram, where they have been performing versions of all their favourite songs, from different sides of the world!
The Naked and Famous were set to release their new album ‘Recover’ in July this year, but they’ve made the difficult decision to delay that due to the current situation. However, the good news is that the pair announced on Facebook that four singles would be released by then, which means we have new tracks to look forward to!

BENEE
If Covid19 wasn’t wreaking havoc around the globe, BENEE would have been getting set to head off on her European tour! With concerts in places like Paris and Amsterdam, plus an already sold-out show in London, the last place BENEE would’ve thought she would’ve been is home!
Like many other kiwis at the moment, BENEE turned to a bit of home baking! Over the weekend, she went live for a cookie decorating session!

However, if there is anything we can learn from BENEE right now – it is to curl up on the couch, grab yourself a drink, stay home, stay safe and enjoy what is hopefully the final days of your “ISO-MOOD”.
