She earned a spot on Forbes’ 30 Under 30 List
Sabrina joined Forbes’ Hollywood & Entertainment 30 Under 30 list for 2021, appearing as a featured honouree. Praised for her immense talent in multiple creative fields, the iconic publication hailed her as one of Gen Z’s best role models and a trailblazer in the new world of entertainment. In her profile on the site, Sabrina lists that winning an EGOT (where one wins an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony) is one of her biggest goals.
She’s producing and starring in a Netflix musical
Creating a contemporary reimagination of the classic Alice in Wonderland story, Sabrina is in the works to both star in and produce the Netflix musical Alice. While there’s no release date yet, the plot will supposedly follow Sabrina as Alice as she navigates around a music festival called Wonderland. The film will be produced by At Last Productions, Sabrina’s own company, and was reportedly sold to Netflix for seven figures via a pitch from Sabrina herself over Zoom. Talk about boss moves.

She stole our hearts in Netflix’s Work It
No stranger to musicals, Netflix’s 2020 film Work It sees Sabrina play lead character Quinn Ackerman; a high school senior who tries to better her dancing skills in order to win a local dance competition and therefore boost her college application for her dream school. Not only did Sabrina absolutely kill the role, she also executive produced the film and even penned the track ‘Let Me Move You’ to go alongside it.
She dropped hit single ‘Skin’
When it dropped a mere 14 days after Olivia Rodrigo’s ‘drivers license’, the world was quick to assume ‘Skin’ was Sabrina’s direct response to the tricky Venn diagram that was herself, Rodrigo, and fellow Disney star Joshua Bassett. While Sabrina has since denied the claim, stating the song “isn’t about one single person”, some of the lyrics seem a little too on the nose. But all that aside, the song is an excellent soft synth tune and marked Sabrina’s debut for her new era with Island Records.
She’s teasing her upcoming album
While there’s little to go on yet regarding Sabrina’s fifth studio album, fans are anticipating it’ll be her most personal yet. And they’re proving to be right. In a video uploaded by the star to her Instagram at the beginning of the month, Sabrina shares a snippet of her singing an emotional piano ballad that she captions ‘Intro.’ The internet understandably went crazy and have speculated that the lyrics are referring to her father. If this is just Sabrina’s introduction track, we have no idea how we’ll cope with the rest of the album!
