Don’t touch that dial yet, Dawn FM is here!

If you somehow managed to evade the internet-induced panic that was the arrival of The Weeknd’s fifth studio album, Dawn FM – let us catch you up. The internet loves a good surprise and nothing was quite as surprising as The Weeknd’s first teaser for the album, “Let’s just drop the whole thing and enjoy it with the people…XO”.

Just seven days later, The Weeknd’s full 16-track album dropped in our laps. With the likes of Quincy Jones, Jim Carrey and Tyler, The Creator lending their talents to the project, Dawn FM is a full-blown 80s-inspired experience – loaded with delicious synths and inescapable hooks on tracks like ‘Sacrifice’ and ‘Out Of Time’.

The reviews for the album were just as obsessed as us, snagging glowing reviews across the board.

The internet’s own Anthony Fantano gave the album an 8/10

Rolling Stone gave the album 4/5 stars

Variety proclaimed “In the face of another phase of a daunting pandemic, it seems that “Dawn FM” — possibly the Weeknd’s best and most fully realized album to date — will help carry fans through this one as well…”

5 Stars” The Guardian

“Across 16 tracks, the Weeknd dishes out disco and new wave-inspired tracks primed for dancefloors (and many more TikTok challenges)” – Pitchfork

Keeping our eyes hooked with stunning visuals for tracks like ‘Sacrifice’ and ‘Gasoline’ — Abel’s also given us his electrifying ‘103.5 Dawn FM’ DJ set.

Needless to say, the dawn has arrived.
