Renee Rapp is without question the internet’s new it-girl. As the star of the new movie Mean Girls and the voice behind the beautiful album Snow Angel, it’s hard to decide if you want to be her or be with her. And it only takes a quick scroll through her Instagram to see all the reasons as of late to love Renee Rapp!

She starred in the ‘Mean Girls’ movie musical

If the never-ending cycle of TikTok audios didn’t already tip you off, 2004’s Mean Girls recently received a movie musical adaptation which hit theatres this January. The film found its Regina George in Renee, who sells the role perfectly with her fierce attitude and beauty. Regina gets plenty of show stopping songs throughout, like ‘Someone Gets Hurt’ and ‘Meet The Plastics’. But it’s those unbelievable high notes in ‘World Burn’ that truly showcase Renee’s undeniable star power.

She gave us double vision hanging with the OG Regina

Renee pulled off plenty of iconic moments guest starring on Saturday Night Live recently. Not only did she portray herself during skits as the hilarious “little lesbian intern”, survive an on-stage wardrobe malfunction and give fantastic live performances of ‘Snow Angel’ and ‘Not My Fault’, but she was introduced by none other than Rachel McAdams, the original Regina George. McAdams’ blessings prove Rapp is the ideal successor.

She’s in on the media training memes about herself

Viral clips of Renee during the Mean Girls promotional cycle have seen fans joke about her lack of interview etiquette. From randomly defending Megan thee Stallion from Tory Lanez unprompted, to knowing the exact number of days since Wendy Williams was last seen, she’s unpredictable and out of pocket in the best way. But of course, Renee is in on the joke herself too. Her recent post reclaims the quip, captioned “her lack of media training is outrageous”.

She released the ‘Not My Fault’ music video

Reimagining Regina George as a queer woman for the new generation, Renee’s track ‘Not My Fault’ with Megan thee Stallion is a certified gay bop. “Can a gay girl get an amen?” Renee croons, pulling off impressive choreo in the music video which sees the duo partying in a pink wonderland. Get a good thing while you can and vibe to this song, as you check out the fun behind-the-scenes content shared by Megan and Renee online.

She dropped her deluxe album Snow Angel

Debuting with her vulnerable full-length record Snow Angel last year, the deluxe edition followed in November and paid tribute to Renee’s childhood with an adorable baby photo. This repackage serves up a multitude of new tracks, including fan favourite ‘Tummy Hurts’ with Coco Jones, and the intensely honest ‘swim’.
