We didn’t think it was possible but Taylor Swift is taking her title of Queen of Easter Eggs to a whole new level. At this point in time, she could simply breathe and people would argue that it was a clue to the shaky breath at 4.26 in ‘Last Kiss’. She may have only just dropped Red (Taylor’s Version) but fans are already going crazy speculating which re-record is coming next.
Taylor already owns her last three albums Lover, folklore and evermore, and with two re-records done, that leaves four more left on the quest to own all of her music. With the self-titled debut likely to come last to create a full circle moment, and her legally not being able to record reputation until it is five years old (November 2022) that leaves 2010’s Speak Now and 2014’s 1989.
And in true blondie fashion she has been dropping hints for both, leaving Swifties hella confused. Here are all the clues we’ve been able to find so far, starting with Speak Now…
‘Enchanted’ started trending on TikTok
We all know what happened last time a song of hers went viral on TikTok… ‘Wildest Dreams (Taylor’s Version)’ was born. Does this mean the same for fan favourite ‘Enchanted’ from Speak Now? How cute would it be seeing as both of these songs featured as a mashup on her 1989 World Tour.

She chose another interesting dollar amount on her online store…
It didn’t take fans long to notice that Taylor put her Red (Taylor’s Version) CD’s on her online store for $20.10, which could be a direct reference to the year 2010, the year Speak Now was released. The font colour was also purple – an interesting choice when the album for sale is literally called Red. Purple is the primary colour associated with the Speak Now era.

The ‘I Bet You Think About Me’ music video is literally about crashing a wedding
The entire narrative of the ‘I Bet You Think About Me’ music video is very similar to Speak Now‘s title track, which is literally (a made-up story) about crashing a wedding.

Never trust her Instagram captions…
We may be overacting here (can you blame us) but Taylor’s Instagram post about Red (Taylor’s Version) may have sneakily hinted at Speak Now song titles in the caption: “Red is about to be MINE again, but it has always been OURS.”
Is that the tree from the Speak Now World Tour?
This one could be a reach… but the cover of the book in the ‘All Too Well’ Short Film has a tree that looks a lot like the one from the b-stage of the Speak Now Tour.
You guys I just had a theory! What if the tree on the All Too Well Notebook is an Easter egg for the tree in the b-stage of the Speak Now Tour! They look so similar! Speak now has to be next! pic.twitter.com/CmuluKYML7

1989 stans rise! If anyone is on team 1989, it’s John Mayer. No doubt he’s already having sleepless nights over ‘Dear John (Taylor’s Version)’ after the internet blew up about Jake Gyllenhaal. Here are all the new* theories we found about 1989…

The car in the ‘All Too Well’ Short Film is a 1989 Mercedes-Benz
Taylor Swift confirmed that the car in the ‘All Too Well’ Short Film is a 1989 Mercedes-Benz. Commenting on the below TikTok she said, “Can’t stop won’t stop being cryptic and weird- that’s just the beginning it’s gonna be a fun week.”
@mrperfectlyfine13 The car in the All Too Well short film was made in 1989!!!! #taylorswift #SwiftTok #swiftie #redtaylorsversion #1989
The wedding cake in the ‘I Bet You Think About Me’ music video
There are white birds on the fifth tier of the wedding cake in the ‘I Bet You Think About Me’ music video which could be a direct reference to the seagulls on the 1989 album cover. It is also a red velvet cake similar to the one in the music video for ‘Blank Space’.
@taylorswift13 I’d like to talk about there being five layers on the cake, your fifth album is 1989 and then THERE IS A BIRD-LIKE PATTERN ON THE BOTTOM TIER LIKE THE ALBUM.
EXCUSE ME, BLONDIE???? #1989TaylorsVersion IS COMING. I AM GONNA CRY. IT’S MY FAVE. 😭 @taylornation13 pic.twitter.com/MEW9F60QOr

This just in! Is this a casual af ‘Bad Blood (Taylor’s Version)’ snippet?
Just when you thought she’s done dropping hints this one popped out of nowhere! Surely it has to be Taylor’s Version…

Let’s also not forget about those Ed Sheeran Easter Eggs…
Ed Sheeran hasn’t been in the Easter Egg game as long as Swift so he’s been easier to crack. When he released his latest album = on October 29, he confirmed that there is a remix of his song ‘The Joker and the Queen’ coming featuring an “American artist”.
The obvious choice would of course be his bestie Taylor, and when her name appeared twice in his music video for ‘Overpass Graffiti’ it was a no brainer. The icing on the cake (pun intended) came when an “=” mark appeared on the wedding cake in Taylor’s ‘I Bet You Think About Me’ music video

*But after all that, can we really trust Miss Swift? She’s sent us on a 1989 wild goose chase already back in April, before the release of Fearless (Taylor’s Version). She gave so many hints that 1989 (Taylor’s Version) would arrive next, including dropping 1989 themed merch, 1989 references in her Stephen Colbert interview, and putting signed Fearless (Taylor’s Version) CDs online for $19.89. Then two months later, we looked like clowns after she announced Red (Taylor’s Version). Not that anyone was complaining, as it has hit #1 on both the Official NZ Top 40 Album Chart and the Billboard 200.
