It’s hard to believe that it’s been an entire year since our Wellington faves Drax Project released their iconic EP ‘NOON’ and basically went off to conquer the world. Our boys have been hard at work touring, making new music and pretty much just smashing it. ‘What have they been up to?’ you ask?Well, we’ll tell you.

They joined Camila Cabello on tour

Just before the release of NOON our boys joined Camila Cabello on the European leg of her Never Be the Same tour, and we’re still suffering from FOMO. The gig lasted the entire month and took the band to some pretty amazing places. Proud is an understatement.

They played at the iconic iHeartRadio festival in Las Vegas

Alongside huge acts such as Fleetwood Mac, Shawn Mendes, Dua Lipa and Sam Smith, to just name a few. The band did NZ proud with their live renditions of ‘Woke Up Late,’ ‘Toto’ and their incredible cover of Justin Timberlake’s ‘Cry Me A River’, and totally proved that they deserved to be there.

They casually met Shawn Mendes too

After a ZM interview with Shawn back in 2017 where he shared his love for the hit ‘Woke Up Late,’ the boys finally got to meet him a year later. So …. when’s the collab coming guys?

They teamed up with Hailee Steinfeld

A collab we didn’t see coming, but are so so grateful for, is the remix of ‘Woke Up Late’ featuring Hailee Steinfeld that was released early this year. Just in time for another summer of playing the song all over again.

‘Woke Up Late’ and Liza Koshy?

Just when we thought the song couldn’t get any better, one more popular face was thrown into the mix. Famous YouTuber Liza Koshy nabbed a cameo in the official music video for the remix and it’s already racked up over 11 million views on YouTube!

They cleaned up at the Vodafone NZ Music Awards

Earning a very well-deserved Breakthrough Artist award as well as Single of the Year for ‘Woke Up Late,’ which they delivered an amazing performance for. They were also nominated for Best Group and The Edge Best Pop Artist.

They helped make history with Six60

This Feb, Six60 made history by being the first NZ act to headline Western Springs Stadium – a whopping 50,000 capacity venue! And none other than Drax Project were among the supporting acts. We hope you managed to catch this show because it was definitely one to be remembered.

They announced some NZ shows

Ever so generous, the boys are taking a break from touring around the world to play a few shows back here at home. Catch them at Auckland Town Hall on July 27 or at Christchurch Town Hall August 2.

They released a new single!

The track has been teased on the band’s Instagram since the start of June and it’s finally here! ‘All This Time’ is the band’s first new track since their album and remixes and it shows a new musical direction. Can we expect more huge dance beats from the boys in the future? If you haven’t already, check out this smash.
